DESCRIPTION:Five weeks on the Life and Ministry of Jesus – beginning July 13   \nClips from the full-length movie\, “Following the Footsteps\,” will trace the ministry of Jesus from His baptism to His post-resurrection appearances and ascension.  After seeing where these events in Jesus’ life actually took place\, we will then study the relevant passages in the Gospels as we reflect on how they speak to our daily Christian lives.  This movie was filmed during one of the “Footsteps of Jesus” pilgrimages led by Lutheran pastor and Bible teacher Bob Rognlien. \nTOPICS: \nJuly 13 – Becoming the Beloved and Preparing for Battle\nWhat do you think it meant to Jesus for the Father not only to tell Him but to tell Him publicly\, “You are My Son\, the Beloved; with You I am well pleased”? Who and/or what are the voices that are trying to tell you who you are? What are they saying to you? \nJuly 20 – Coming Home\, A New Kind of Family\, and Invitation to Follow\nJesus left His hometown of Nazareth\, where He was not well-received\, and went to the house of Peter and Andrew in Capernaum\, where He was well received. What would it mean for you to find people who respond positively to your witness about Jesus\, invest in those relationships\, and then show as well as tell them about the Kingdom of God? \nJuly 27 – A Kingdom of Power and City of the King\nLuke tells us that as Jesus came near to and saw the city of Jerusalem on Palm Sunday He wept over it. What does it mean to you to know what our God is a God who weeps? \nAugust 3 – A Final Passover and Catastrophe!\nAll that the thief on the cross asked Jesus for was that He remember him. He did not want to be forgotten. Jesus gave Him far more than He asked for. He gave him salvation. When and how has Jesus given you far more than you dare ask for? \nAugust 10 – A New Creation and To the Ends of the Earth\nThe resurrection of Jesus unleashed and still unleashes a power that overcomes even death.
