A daily journey of scripture, memories, and thanksgiving as we prepare
to celebrate our 50th Anniversary.
What This Is
In 2026, Shepherd of the Hills celebrates 50 years of ministry, worship, and community. To mark this milestone, we invite you to join us in a meaningful journey called 50 Days of Gratitude for 50 Years of God’s Goodness.
Beginning January 4 and continuing through February 22, we’ll reflect each day on how God has been faithful to this church family — through scripture, shared memories, and stories of faith from across the generations.
Why 50 Days?
The number 50 is not accidental.
Each of these 50 days represents one year of God’s goodness in the life of Shepherd of the Hills. Together, these reflections form a spiritual practice of remembrance — a way to pause, give thanks, and recognize how God has been present in worship, service, community, and care over the past five decades.
What to Expect During the 50 Days
Throughout the 50-day journey, you can expect:
-
A short daily email (January 4 – February 22)
-
Scripture and prayer
-
Memories and stories shared by members and friends of SOTH
-
Reflections connected to our church’s core values
-
Photos and moments from our shared history
-
Highlights shared on Facebook
Each reflection is designed to be brief, thoughtful, and grounding — a daily moment to give thanks.
Our Core Values in Action
As we share these memories, you’ll notice that each one reflects one of the core values that shape who we are as Shepherd of the Hills:
-
We Are Christ Centered
-
We Glorify God
-
We Grace It Up
-
Life Is Better Connected
These values are not just statements — they’ve been lived out through worship, service, music, learning, fellowship, and care for one another over 50 years. The stories shared during these 50 days bring those values to life.
Share Your Story
This journey is richer because of the voices that make up our church family — and we invite you to continue sharing.
Your memory might be:
-

Celebrating Together — February 22, 2026
The 50-day journey will culminate in a special 50th Anniversary Celebration on February 22, 2026.
We’ll gather in worship and thanksgiving to celebrate all that God has done through Shepherd of the Hills — and to look ahead with hope and trust for what God will continue to do in the years to come.

50 Days of Gratitude Archives
Each day during our 50 Days of Gratitude for 50 Years of God’s Goodness journey, we share a short reflection rooted in scripture and shaped by the stories of our church family. This archive allows you to revisit any day’s reflection, catch up if you’ve missed one, or return to a memory that spoke to you. The most recent reflections are at the top and will be added to as we work our way through the 50 days.
Whether you are walking through the full 50 days with us or discovering these reflections later, we invite you to take your time — reading, remembering, and giving thanks for the many ways God’s goodness has been at work among us.
